Rich was born in Binghamton, New York. He began his culinary career working at several popular Italian restaurants in Binghamton and Upstate New York. He had the honor of being an understudy and Sous chef to CIA graduate Chef Jorge Oresario at Giovannis, an authentic Northern Italian Restaurant. It was there that he was able to lay the foundation of his skills, making homemade pastas and sauce. Rich was later hired by Morey’s, a fine dining restaurant as Chef de cuisine, gaining experience with catering and large scale events.
After moving to Buffalo, NY he was hired as the Kitchen Manager for Rizzo’s Restaurant and was later promoted to Executive Chef. Rich supervised all food operations at Banchetti Catering, Café Banchetti and two Rizzo’s Restaurant before moving to Raleigh, NC.
Since joining the team he has been able to expand his knowledge and express himself creatively. He began in hot food production then was promoted to Event Chef, responsible for executing all the food for special events. In July of 2014, Rich was promoted to Executive Chef. His passion and talent in the kitchen are the driving force behind the culinary endeavors at Catering Works. He enjoys creating new recipes and surprising us with unique ingredient combinations. While he isn’t in the kitchen he is enjoying music and the great outdoors with his family. He and wife Regina are proud parents of two boys; Peyton and Hudson.
