Founder's Day

We partnered with Catrina Vienrich to create this amazing event! The purpose of the event was to celebrate the Founder John McAdams and the 40th year milestone for McAdams, a design/engineering and planning business. Additionally the relocation of McAdams headquarters to downtown Raleigh was another cause for celebration. Katrina took her inspiration from the McAdams logo itself, which features a square motif. It didn't go unnoticed that the location of the new headquarters at Tower Two downtown was adjacent to Nash Square. Her desire was to create an event that inspired both a sense of community and the feel of a town square market (much like Pike's Place in Seattle). The backdrop of the event was a stunning view of downtown Raleigh. The food stations included: Farmer's Market Vegetable Stand, Cheesemonger Station featuring International Cheeses, Asian Rice Market with Rice Noodle dishes and Fortune Cookies, Carolina BBQ Stand, Saltwater Seafood Display, Butcher's Market Stand with Kebabs, Peppered Meats (even chocolate covered bacon!), and Boulangerie featuring LaFarm Breads and Specialty Butters. California Theme Birthday Soiree

This event was fun-filled with all things "Cali". The guest of honor had planned a birthday trip to California, however, it had to be rescheduled after her birthday. The event was held in the Laurelbrook for about 100 guests. Party goers arrived to walk down the red carpet for a photo opp against a replica "Hotel California" record cover. Attendees were offered daisy flower crowns and grape cluster crowns and pins to get festive. Multiple themed food stations were setup and decorated in style. The California Redwoods station featured some vegetarian, tenderloin and shrimp in a wild mushroom display table, The Napa Wine station featured a wide range of California wines, cheese and charcuterie, The Mexi-Cal station featured empanadas, table made guacamole and chips and a Sushi Station rounded out the savories. Desserts were served by a Marilyn Monroe model, roving in a table "dress", and a Hollywood Star themed cake and cupcakes were displayed. The most unique aspect of the party is an activity we created called "Casting Call". Guests were presented with a variety of Hollywood scripts. They studied their lines and went into the pastry room, in which Atlas Productions created a screen test movie set. Guests read their lines while the crew filmed, and the video was projected onto a big screen inside the venue. It was hilarious to watch the would-be Hollywood stars strut their stuff.
