Ask me about my daughter’s vehicle

When and Where were you born?  I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii sometime around the time it became a US State.  That’s all I’m sayin’…

What is your favorite CW recipe?  Love, Love, love the salted caramel shortbread bars!

Did you ever live anywhere else in the states, and what is your past work experience?  I was primarily raised in the SF Bay Area.  My dad was a ‘traveling salesman’ so we moved around quite a bit growing up.  After Hawaii, we lived in Washington state to Calgary Canada (dad was native Canadian), Oshawa Ontario, and finally to California.  I have always loved to bake and started dabbling in desserts at fairly young age.  Kept that energy and passion for food going through my educational years and worked in various food establishments, including Bridges (fun fact:  as seen in Mrs. Doubtfire).  And here I am in Raleigh – as they say, “the rest is history”

What is your favorite part of your job at Catering Works?  I love the people I work with and the family atmosphere created here.  My clients are ever-changing and they keep the daily dynamics crazy and fun.

What are your hobbies outside work?  I still love to bake!  Very passionate about my walks – with and without borrowed pups in tow.  I have a new affinity for sipping Bourbon and an addition to the bucket list – a visit to the Kentucky Bourbon trail!

What is the most memorable event you ever planned?  I have a wonderful client who plans a large client appreciation ‘picnic’ in his garden-perfect backyard every Spring.  Without fail it storms and rains buckets during set up and then clears to beautiful skies for his guests to enjoy his hospitality

Ask me about my nerdy side.

When and Where were you born? Cairo, Egypt 05/31/90

In 2001, my family was fortunate enough to win the Lottery, before you get too excited, I'm not a ga-zillionaire, we won the official US Diversity Visa Lottery, so were able to migrate here.  I am very proud to say I became a full fledged citizen of the US on July 26th, 2017.

What is your favorite CW recipe? Poptail Shrimp - I absolutely love it!  It is cocktail shrimp coasted in a spicy glazed and sprinkled with popping sugar (just enough to create a surprising subtle crackle, just like pop rocks).

Did you ever live anywhere else in the states, and what is your past work experience? My family and I lived in Long Beach CA, where I always worked in the hospitality industry.  My Dad and I co-owned a restaurant and I later worked for Hilton properties.  Before I came to Catering Works, I was a bar manager at Mimi's Cafe.

What is your favorite part of your job at Catering Works? My boss - she allows me to have a lot of  creative freedom, and I enjoy imparting my humor and personality into our collaborations.  I love the awesome food and learning from the talented people around me.  One of my favorite things is DRESSING UP for the Culinary Adventures - I've been every character from the Queen of Mardi Gras to a Geisha!!

What are your hobbies outside work? I love music, bartending, racing and super hero anything (I’m not saying I’m batman, I’m just saying you’ve never seen me and batman in the same room together). I spend my free time with my partner Tiffany and our precocious Pomeranian Copper.

Meme has a long record of outstanding achievements in the hospitality industry, including Mastering the Arts of Service, Employee of the Month and Employee of the Year from Hilton Properties.  She has become a vital part of the Catering Works Sales and Marketing team, and we are proud to have her on board as a sparkling personality and reflection of our brand and mission.

Ask me about my favorite place to travel! Spoiler: It’s always changing!

When and Where were you born? Silver Spring, Maryland on September 20th, 1990. My family moved to North Carolina in 1994 where we’ve lived in Cary, moved to Apex, and now I’ve settled my roots in Holly Springs!

What is your favorite CW recipe? A tie between the beef filet with gorgonzola cream & our roasted vegetable flatbreads.

What is your past work experience? Before working with Catering Works, I worked with State Farm Insurance as a property, casualty, life & health insurance agent. I decided one day that the industry wasn’t for me. Most people don’t enjoy paying for their insurance, so I wanted to work in a field where my clients are happy and excited about what they’re planning! Enter – Catering Works! I started on the events team as an Event Manager to get to know the in’s and out’s of how an event runs and transitioned into the sales and planning side where I’ve been working for around 5 years!

What is your favorite part of your job at Catering Works? My clients! I love getting to work with such a diverse group of people with corporate events, weddings and families planning special days to celebrate. I love following couples through their lives on social media from the wedding, to getting a dog, buying a home, starting a family, etc.

What are your hobbies outside work? I love to travel first and foremost. I really enjoy seeing new places and soaking up the sun in new to me tropical locations. Getting to try food in other cultures is so exciting and important to me. That is the fun of traveling! I also love to spend time with my family and two sweet little nephews Christopher & Easton. We love spending summers together on the boat at Lake Gaston, playing softball, and grilling out! If I’m not jet-setting or at Lake Gaston, you’ll find me snuggling on the couch watching The Office with my sweet little cat, Tito.

What is the most memorable event you ever planned? Campaign Launch Gala – whew what a whirlwind! So much food, fun, design, laughter, and tears. I even have a book of the event in my office to remind myself of how kickass my team is! We truly can’t succeed at events alone. It’s such a team effort and I am truly lucky of the team working next to me.

Ask me about What happens at 4:55pm M-F

When and Where were you born? March 7th in Raleigh, NC

What is your favorite CW recipe? California Chicken & Pasta

What is your past work experience? I have worked in events/sales/customer service for most of my life. I worked at Marbles Kids Museum for 6 years; with 3 of those years working in sales of birthday parties and facility rentals. I have been involved in planning events such as children’s birthday parties, corporate receptions, baby showers to weddings. I have been with Catering Works for a little over a year and have coordinated office lunches, office receptions, social gatherings; whether in a client’s personal home or in their office and many other limited service (Helping Hands) events. As a child I was always fascinated with hotels and always knew that I wanted to work within the events/hospitality industry.

What is your favorite part of your job at Catering Works? Putting together a great menu for a client and the people that I get to work with every day.

What are your hobbies outside work? I enjoy traveling, trying new restaurants, watching and going to sporting events and relaxing on my days off.

What is the most memorable event you ever planned? With most of my clients being corporate and needing limited service, my most memorable events are all the events that include my clients and their guests be satisfied with the food/service that is provided. In my experience, I have learned that CEO’s can be hard to please!

Ask me about my fur child Pudge, our 13 year old pug.

When and Where were you born? Raleigh, NC, Hometown Girl

What is your favorite CW recipe? Corn Cake with Duck Confit and Blackberry Lemon Cupcake

Did you ever live anywhere else in the states, and what is your past work experience? I tried moving from the Raleigh area in college but found myself drawn back.  I have enjoyed seeing the growth and transformation of the Triangle through the years.  I am an NC State alum (Go Wolfpack!) and graduated with a bachelor’s in accounting.  I previously worked in local government finance for 10 years.  I took a study on finding my passion which officially lead me to the events industry in 2017.  With a love for fellowship and great logistical skills, I have always been the organizer for parties and gatherings from childhood through my college years.  This grew into assisting friends and family with their wedding planning, hosting showers (baby & bridal) and now moving into kids’ birthdays and other milestones.  I have worked in many areas of the event industry from waiting tables for concerts to managing a local event venue.  My experiences have shown me the importance of a well-planned event, delicious food, and impeccable service, all things that Catering Works provides to our clients.  I also recently became a Certified Wedding Planner through The Bridal Society and look forward to being a part of many weddings with Catering Works.

What is your favorite part of your job at Catering Works? I love being able to come along with our clients as they plan some very memorable moments.  I enjoy creating an awesome experience for their guests and hearing all about their vision for their event.  It amazes me the diversity of clients we get to work with and learning everyday about our community through awesome events we get to be apart of.

What are your hobbies outside work? When not being a part of the fabulous team at Catering Works, I find myself searching out and trying new hot spots all over the Triangle area.  I also enjoy volunteering, hiking and relishing the beautiful NC landscape.  When I have free time (almost never) I like watching every rom-com available on Netflix and traveling with my husband.  I also love cuddling with our fur child Pudge, a 13 year old pug.

What is the most memorable event you ever planned? My own Cinco de Mayo wedding
