How Much Food Should I Serve?
We suggest for a 1-hour Reception 4 -8 items per person and for a 2-hour Reception 6-10 items per person. If Dinner is being served after the reception you can go with slightly less. We suggest including a variety of cold and hot items. (ex. 2- 3 hot bites, 3 cold items and 2 pick up desserts). Color, Presentation and Easy-to-eat are important factors when hosting an event.
Keep in mind that food should not sit out for more than 2 hours in air-conditioned space, it’s important to keep hot food hot and cold food cold. Our food is served on silver hammered platters, wooden boards and we also offer pewter or specialty pottery. Chafing dishes and fondue pots are included for hot items.
How Much Table Space is Required for my Party?
Plan to set up separate tables for food and beverage, your menu will determine the space required for food. Kitchen Islands and Countertops work well for home parties, or Kitchen and Dining tables offer great spaces for food set up if you’re not using for seating. Keep in mind that you may need to protect your tables with linens if having hot chafing dishes.
Do I Need Service for my Event?
If you are offering Bar Service, wanting Passed Hors D’oeuvres, Action Stations, or Plated Service, staff will be necessary.
Consider the length of event, as longer events will require service to keep foods safe and fresh.
A guest count over 50 with multiple changes of food pans or a large number of menu offerings that will need to be replenished should have staff on-site to assist.
Even for smaller parties, when China and Stemware is provided over disposables, having staff on site to bus the guests' plates, silverware, and glassware is highly recommended.
