Krista & Zach's Day at The Laurelbrook
Posted to: General News by Catering Works on Feb 21, 2020The theme was rustic and woodsy with a touch of whimsy and it was reflected in the color palette of burnt orange, blush, dark green and hints of golden yellow.
Design Time
Bloom Works supplied the floral décor that had a wildflower feel. Krista carried a whimsical hand tied bouquet that included both Faith and Antique roses, thistle, and seeded eucalyptus, accented with an ivory satin ribbon. The bridesmaids carried similar smaller bouquets. The groom wore a boutonniere accented with silver thread. The ceremony took place in front of a birch arbor draped in sheer white fabric and greenery. A string trio provided music for the ceremony.
On the Menu
The couple chose a brunch themed menu starting with a fresh fruit display with key lime dip as a displayed hors d’oeuvres. The buffet included assorted quiche and house made waffles with bacon and sausage and also a tater tot bar where guests could choose among shredded cheddar cheese, bacon bits, sour cream, ketchup, ranch and pimento cheese sauce for their toppings.
Icing on the Cake
The couple chose to have a small 6 inch cutting cake from Pastry Works for photo ops. The cake artist created a cinnamon swirl cake featuring buttercream filling. The cake had a “naked” exterior adorned with fall colored chrysanthemums and roses. To go with the cake there was a coffee and cocoa bar with whipped cream, chocolate curls, marshmallows, and peppermint puffs.
After the guests had their fill of the buffet, they danced to a four piece band before bidding goodbye to the happy couple.
